Educational Outreach Lead (Voluntary)
Since its foundation in 2024, Cuore Chamber Orchestra Ltd (www.cuorechamberorchestra.com) has established itself as a leading cultural pioneer for classical music through performances accessible to all across Yorkshire in iconic architectural heritage concert venues. The orchestra is an ambassador promoting our region both nationally and internationally. Cuore is a registered charity (N°.1214332) and as such has a vocation to deliver educational outreach programs and enhance the musical awareness of schoolchildren in Yorkshire. Our fundamental mission is to ignite and nurture classical musical interest amongst the younger generations and to share music with all at the very heart of our diverse communities.
Roles and responsibilities
As part of the development of its charitable outreach vocation, Cuore Chamber Orchestra is looking to recruit an Educational Outreach Lead. This new role, which reports directly into the Board of Trustees, is on a part-time voluntary basis, with the lead working from home in Yorkshire, ideally in the Leeds/York/Harrogate area. This is a significant opportunity to shape Cuore’s educational direction, with potential for future board involvement.
The scope of the role is as follows:
- Contribute to defining educational outreach strategy in conjunction with the Board of Trustees and Artistic Director
- Conceive an annual programme of outreach events and initiatives
- Assist with the development of the annual budget
- Drive the implementation of the educational outreach strategy
- Gradually build a robust team of volunteers
- Forge and develop relationships with educational establishments, universities, colleges, schools, conservatoires, music hubs and staff
- Lead outreach event organisation
- Ensure educational activities align with National Curriculum for Music, Music Hub priorities and wider music frameworks where appropriate
- Develop and evolve support materials and pedagogical programs
- Be the Ambassador for Cuore in the education world.
Your experience
The successful applicant should have solid experience and a proven track record in the following:
- Educational visionary specialist in music and pedagogy
- Knowledge and experience of the culture and working with a charitable non-profit organisation
- A passion for the transmission of the love of classical music and the arts to the younger generations
- Strategic short, medium and long-term thinker
- Managing and motivating volunteers
- Autonomous, proactive, self-motivated team player
- Structured communicator with reporting skills
- Knowledge and experience of safeguarding legislation & obligations
- Current UK driving license.
